Global Delta Children's Village

Global Delta Village was established in 1992 in Sierra Leone and later had to relocate to Ghana after the war broke out.Over the years, we've supported many children and guardians with love, education, food, shelter, cloths and medical support.However, it was merged with global development and relief service as an initiative under it over the years.

Our Mission

Our mission, vision and goals are :

Contribute to socio-economic development of both orphan children and rehabs

Support the underprivileged children and rehabs, giving them good livelihood and hope

Create a home that will ensure the welfare of orphans and guardians

Objectives

Improve psychosocial support for children and teachers/careers. All children and teachers/careers supported by the network are affected by loss of a parents or severe economic hardship in some way. Many children have lost one or more parents, and both children and teachers have experienced sick and dying family or community members. These circumstances cause not only economic problems, because the breadwinner has died, but also the social and psychological difficulties of stigma, discrimination, exclusion, and emotional distress.

Objectives 2

Provide educational assistance for teachers/careers the average age of children supported by the network is between 3 and 16 years of age. Early Childhood Education is a critical factor in enabling children to develop and continue into primary school. A child who is ready for school has less chances of repeating a grade, being placed in special education, or dropping out of school. The educational assistance focuses on the skills and knowledge of the teachers and careers in early childhood development, but also looks at the materials and environment needed to make sure children learn and develop.

Objectives 3

Improve food security and nutrition for orphans and other vulnerable children Most children supported by the Network live in extreme poverty, often only having one meal a day, and understanding of nutrition is low. Malnutrition decreases the learning capacity of the children. A healthy diet is important for all children. Delta focuses on providing the children supported by the network with three nutritious meals a day, and also look at more sustainable ways to secure health and nutritious food for children and careers.
